on the surface

on the surface

on the surface you do not see what is inside,

unless you look carefully.

perhaps that is what happens most of the time,

just the quick look.

inside there may be more to see,

than your first impression.

gifts of many sorts await those,

who spend the time to ponder.

looking at me you do not see,

the creativity and thoughtful language inside.

unless you take the time to go beyond the surface,

and understand there is more than meets the eye.
