Thinking outside the box
When I open my studio
It gives me inspiration.
It is a place where ideas come from
Listening to the world around me.
Coming from your world of talk
To my world of words through art.
I am not stuck in embarrassment or silence
But take a pleasing joy ride of creativity.
It is easy to get in a rut
When everything is the same over and over.
I just have glimpses of common things
Looking at it in an unusual way.
Images become alive as my need to complete
Unique sculptures take hold.
Each piece is different from the last
And in contrast to others who create.
Is it thinking outside the box or
Using the box to show my ideas.
Either way common objects are transformed
Into a collection of pieces in my studio.
